Gordon Cooper is a chartered accountant in sole practice as a tax consultant. He has had a particular emphasis on capital gains tax since its introduction was announced in 1985. He is a former President of the Taxation Institute of Australia and is President of the Committee of the Australian Branch of the International Fiscal Association. He is a Visiting Professorial Fellow at the Australian School of Taxation (Atax) in the Faculty of Law at the University of New South Wales. He has been appointed a member of the inaugural Tax Practitioners Board.
Chris Evans is a Professor of Taxation (and former Director) at the Australian School of Taxation (Atax) in the Faculty of Law at the University of New South Wales. He is also an International Research Fellow at Oxford University Centre for Business Taxation. He specialises in tax law and administration, capital gains taxation, tax policy and reform, and has practised, researched and published extensively in these areas. He has experience as a revenue administrator and in senior roles as a taxation consultant in the UK and Australia. He is a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia and of CPA Australia, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (and Chairman of the ICAA Tax Module Advisory Committee) and the UK’s Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Kirk Wilson is a Senior Tax Writer at Thomson Reuters specialising in CGT. He has written extensively across the topic for Thomson Reuters over the past 14 years, as well as teaching the topic at TAFE as a part-time teacher. He has also worked in the Tax Office in various areas dealing with CGT (and other technical areas). He has an Arts/Law degree from Sydney University and is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW.
