The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has released Market Integrity Rules following the transfer of market supervision from the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) to ASIC.
The Rules, made on 1 August 2010, are based on the previously existing ASX Market Rules and apply to market participants and operators and financial products traded on the ASX and the Sydney Futures Exchange (SFE no ASX 24). ASIC is responsible for monitoring compliance with the new Rules.
The Rules, along with related explanatory documents and guides, are now available on both Legal Online and on Tax & Accounting Online, as part of ASIC Digest.
Not only are the Rules now available, but the ASIC Digest search form has been updated so that you can search for the Market Integrity Rules using our dedicated ASIC Digest document citation search. It allows you to find ASIC documents using the document type abbreviations (eg MIR). For more information on how these search fields work, see Research Tip – ASIC Digest Market Integrity Rules Search.
