The Australian Commercial Precedents series was launched in 2009 to provide a time-saving drafting aid for practitioners across the key areas of commercial law.
This service stands out from other precedents offerings on the market by providing quality and depth of content normally only accessible in larger law firms, supported by tools such as optional clauses, drafting notes, detailed drafting checklists, and self-formatting Word documents for firms that do not have their own Word processing support.
The authors are specialists in their areas and include Dr W G (Bill) Gough (corporate and commercial precedents consultant for law firms and author of Gough on Company Charges), Mark Curran (Special Counsel, Dibbs Barker), James Jarvis (Partner with Finlaysons) and Andrea Pane and Robert Alderuccio (Partners with franchise law firm Robert James Lawyers in Melbourne).
Currently ACP offers precedents modules in the following areas:
- Finance and Securities
- Sale of Business
- Sale of Shares
- Restraint of Trade and Confidentiality
ACP Licensing Precedents will be included in the collection later in 2011, while 2012 will see the addition of ACP Joint Ventures and Partnerships Precedents, and ACP Supply and Distribution Precedents.
ACP precedents suites (or “modules”) have traditionally been available to practitioners separately so that practitioners only need buy what they use. Thomson Reuters is now also making all the ACP modules available in an Australian Commercial Precedents Pack.
