Throughout this year we have been busy redeveloping ASIC Forms to enhance the functionality and to improve your user experience. We are now pleased to announce the redevelopment of ASIC Forms is complete!
Want to know what the improvements actually are? Here’s a rundown of feedback we’ve previously received and how we’ve built this into the new version of ASIC Forms.
Feedback: “I don’t want to have to fill out a form from scratch every time I use it”.
What we’ve done to help:
- You can now save information into a form once, and reuse it later as many times as you choose. If you are reusing a form and only one piece of information has changed, you can update the one relevant field and reuse all of the information you have previously entered in other fields.
- You can complete the lodging party details once and reuse them across multiple Forms – and it’s easy! Simply complete the lodging details once, and it will automatically be updated for all of your forms. You don’t have to do anything else. If, however, you do need to have different lodging party details for different forms, you can do that too. Simply create a new profile and fill out your new lodging party details. For this profile, all forms will now be updated with the new lodging party details, but it won’t overwrite your previous ones. You can then easily switch back and forth between your different profiles.
Feedback: “I want updates to be incorporated quickly and easily”
What we’ve done to help:
- Whenever there are updates to the forms, you will automatically receive a message when you next open ASIC Forms asking you if you would like to download them. The message will also tell you which forms have changed. Most importantly though – if a form has changed, the data you have previously entered will not be lost! We’ve developed ASIC Forms in such a way that it will only update those fields that have changed, rather than overwrite all existing data in a form.
Feedback: “I want to be able to share a form with someone else in my organisation”
What we’ve done to help:
- There are several ways you can share information with other users in your organisation. You can either set ASIC Forms up to access the same data location for everyone, or you can simply email a partially completed form to another user to complete. They can open it in their ASIC Forms window and can continue to complete the form from wherever you have left off.
- Once you have completed a form, you can also save, print or email the final PDF. You can keep your completed forms in your own organisation’s filing system for future reference.
Feedback: “I want to be able to fill out complicated forms quickly and easily”
What we’ve done to help:
- We now have dynamic fields. This means that rather than being presented with an entire form with a whole lot of information that is not relevant to you, some of the information will only appear when it becomes relevant. Eg if you answer Yes to a question you will then be presented with the fields that you need to complete only if you answer Yes. And vice versa answering No. The fields you are required to complete if you have answered No will only appear once you have made this selection. This speeds up the completion of forms and makes them more intuitive to use. If you prefer to see the form in its entirety, we have added links to the full PDF, so you can view it side-by-side with the form-filling screen.
The new version of ASIC Forms is very different from the old version and it may take a little getting used to. To help, we have included an extensive “User Guide” to walk you through all of the features of the new version. The User Guide can be found at the top of the Help menu within your ASIC Forms application.
We value your feedback and would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
We hope you enjoy using the new version of ASIC Forms! And don’t forget, we are ASIC’s official publisher and we publish a range of other ASIC works to give you full coverage of all your compliance responsibilities.
