We are pleased to announce the release of a significant new enhancement to the ASIC Digest. Following feedback from our customers, we have introduced links from the Instruments Tables directly to the relevant pages of the official ASIC Gazettes.
What are the Instruments Tables?
The Instruments Tables list out those corporations who have been provided with relief from their obligations under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
ASIC provide extended notices of relief in the ASIC Gazettes. These are summarised in the ASIC Digest in the Instruments Tables. The Tables are not intended to reference all notices published in the ASIC Gazettes. They only include public notices referring to the provision of relief under the Corporations Act.
What links have been added?
We have extracted the pages from the ASIC Gazettes relating to each instance of relief (over 4,000 of them!) and have added links to these extracted pages direct from the Table of Instruments.
As an example, in January 2013, there were four relief instruments relating to financial services and markets published in the ASIC Gazette. They are listed in the Instruments Table in the following way:
To review the full instrument providing relief, you can do so by simply clicking on the ASIC Gazette link at the end of the summary. It will open a PDF containing the instrument, as extracted directly from the official ASIC Gazette. Below is an example of the first page of an instrument (please note the actual PDF contains several pages, not reproduced here).
With this enhancement, you now have access to the primary materials being referred to and you don’t have to spend valuable time searching for it yourself. The work has been done for you.
