Beginning October 2015 with the release of Part 1 of Volume 248, the Industrial Reports will feature authorised decisions of the Industrial Court Queensland and the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.
As authorised law reports, the ICQ and QIRC decisions published in the IR will act as the definitive version of each specially selected case, preferred in Courts by Judges and other judicial officers. The authorisation process provides greater consistency and oversight for readers as cases are approved for accuracy by the presiding member. It also ensures the most significant cases are easier for legal professionals to find, along with the added value of expert headnotes summarising the key points of law.
This is an exciting development for the Industrial Reports, which also currently publishes the authorised decisions of the Federal Fair Work Commission and the Industrial Relations Commission of NSW.
President of the ICQ and QIRC, the Honourable Justice Glenn Martin, said: “The publication of judgments from the Industrial Court of Queensland and the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission in the Industrial Reports will assist practitioners by providing, for the first time, a source of authorised reports. The inclusion of these judgments alongside those of the Fair Work Commission and the Industrial Relations Commission of NSW will give practitioners the opportunity to consult and compare decisions from across the country. We look forward to working with Thomson Reuters to provide consistent and accurate reporting.”
The partnership underlines Thomson Reuters’ commitment to providing the very best authoritative and insightful content. With the addition of the authorised decisions of the ICQ and the QIRC, the Industrial Reports strengthens its position as the most authoritative collection of industrial case law in Australia.
