The Natural Language search function provides you with the option to enter your search in the form of a question or phrase. Checkpoint will locate the most relevant results containing the key words you’ve entered. At the same time, Checkpoint will ignore any noise words, such as ‘the’ or ‘how.’
Step 1: After logging into Checkpoint, at www.checkpointau.com.au, navigate to the Research Page by clicking onto the Research link located in the black menu bar.
Step 2: Select the Natural language search option located under the Keyword(s) search field on the Basic search template.
Step 3: Enter your search terms. This can be in the form of a question or a phrase such as: How do I calculate car expense deductions.
Step 4: Click the Search button.
Results matching your search will be presented. Checkpoint will:
- Automatically search for alternative word endings for key terms (ie calculate, calculating, calculation).
- Only return up to 100 results, making it easier for you to locate the information you are looking for.
- Before you run the search, you have the option to search within a specific product or content type. To choose the product or content type, click the appropriate checkbox in the product library located below the search template. This will assist in narrowing your search parameters.
- You can change your default search type from Terms & Connectors to Natural Language by clicking onto the Preferences link located in the orange toolbar, selecting Natural language for Search Type, and then clicking the Update button located at the bottom of the page.
